is well known for its cattle wealth and has earned the distinction of being the
home of the world famous "MURRAH" buffalo and the "Haryana
Cow". Haryana as the saying goes "DESAN ME DES HARYANA JIT DOODH DAHI
KA KHANA" is rightly known as the "MILK PAIL" of
Under
present condition Dairy farming is the most suitable revenue to provide gainful
employment to the educated unemployed youths. It is also essential for
diversification of conventional agriculture production. Like elsewhere in the
state the Dairy Development Department is implementing four special schemes for
providing self employment opportunities through Mini Dairy Scheme to
educated/semi educated unemployed young men/women small/marginal farmers,
landless labour/weaker/economically backward unemployed youths of scheduled
tribes/women/ex-servicemen, and widows of rural areas. These schemes are:-
ELIGIBILTY:
Any person desirous of
establishing Mini Dairy Units will be eligible to avail benefits under the
schemes of he/she is:-
4. Possess at least 2 acre land for 10 MA one acre land for 5 MA his/her own or on lease for green fodder.
5. Obtains 21 days training successfully.
BENEFIT:
Each beneficiaries under
the Scheme will get benefit in the following manners:-
I)
Insurance
premium @2.25% will be borne by the beneficiary against the loans to be provided
by the financial Institution as per recommendation of the NABARD from time to
time being the case sponsored by the department.
II)
That
the modern dairy technical know how will be provided by the department and
other recognized Institute.
III) That the door step preliminary health care as first aid to the
animals will be provided by the department.
SUBSIDY:
Each beneficiaries under
the scheme will get subsidy in the following manners:-
1. Interest Subsidy:
Subsidy
in the form of rebate on interest to confine the 50% of beneficiary for a
period of 5 years for 3 Milch animals (S.C.) scheme & 3 Milch animals widow
scheme. No Interest subsidy is provided on 10 Milch animals, 5 Milch animals
and 3 Milch animals scheme beneficiary by the department. The subsidy will be
released to the banks against the amount of simple interest payable by the
beneficiary to the banks as per bank statement subject to:-
a)
The beneficiaries should be regular in repayment of loan as stipulated.
b)
Penal interest will be paid by the beneficiaries himself/ herself.
2. INSURANCE:
i) Each animals purchased
under the scheme will be insured against mortality and permanent disability.
The insurance premium @ 2.25 % of cost of animal will be subsidized by the
Department for the first year on 3 Milch animals (Schedule caste/ widow) scheme
afterwards the insurance premium of his assets will be paid by the beneficiary
himself/herself.
ii) The Insurance premium @2.25% of the cost
of animals will be borne by the beneficiary himself/ herself being a sponsored
case through the department on the beneficiaries benefited under the 10 Milch,
5 Milch, 3 Milch (General & other category) scheme.
3. SHED REN. & MARGIN
MONEY:
Rs.2000/- will be paid by
the department for shed ren. & Margin Money for
Scheduled Caste & Widow only.

BREEDING/VETY. FACILITIES:
Breeding
cover and veterinary aid facilities are made available by the animal Husbandry
Department. However the Dairy Development Department through its cluster
supervisor posted at Block level in the District provides all the facilities to
the beneficiaries of the schemes.
FOLLOW-UP ACTION:
Inspection
of milch animals is carried out by the Dairy Development Department through its
representative from time to time so as to ensure that the loan amount is being
utilized properly and repayment of loan is made regularly.
CATTLE FEED CHECK-UP:
For
regulating the quality of cattle feed in the District, Government of Haryana
have implemented the Haryana Regulation of Compounded Cattle Feed, concentrates
and mineral mixtures order 1999. Under this order dealer shall manufacturer,
sell or distribute in any manner compounded cattle feed, concentrates or
mineral mixtures unless these are B.I.S. (Bureau of Indian Standard)
specifications and unless such a dealer gets himself registered under this
order by Dairy Development Department. Soon this order would be implemented in
the District after completing the various department formalities.
